Biggest Dreamliner takes to the skies

The Boeing B787-10 Dreamliner took to the skies for the first time on 31 March 2017 at the manufacturer's plant in South Carolina (USA).

The airplane, which is the newest and longest model of the B787 family, completed a successful almost five hour flight, and will now undergo comprehensive flight testing before customer deliveries begin in H1/2018.

The B787-10 has won 149 orders from nine customers across the globe including launch customer Singapore Airlines, Air Lease Corporation, All Nippon Airways, British Airways, Etihad Airways, Eva Air, GE Capital Aviation Services, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and United Airlines.

As an 5.5 m stretch version of the B 787-9, the B787-10 will deliver a total cargo volume of 175 cbm, 41% more than the B787-8 (125 cbm) and 15% more versus the B787-9 (153 cbm). (ah) SOURCE: ITJ
