The scene as the fire was brought under control
4. July 2017
A crane caught fire on the M77 motorway near Glasgow in Scotland this morning closing the road for a while.
The fire crews also had had to clean up an oil spill that came with the fire. Fortunately, unlike many of these All Terrain crane fires, this one did not take hold – either due to an on board fire system, or the rapid arrival of a fire engine?
The road was reopened fairly quickly, and it looks as though the crane was able to raise its boom at some point.
We will be interested to learn more about this incident to find out why the fire was so modest compared to other recent crane fires. SOURCE: Vertikal.net
