ALE has successfully installed the first of 24 bridge structures as part of the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing project in Queensland, Australia.
The bridge girders, weighing up to 90t each, were transported to installation position using hydraulic trailers with bolsters. Once in position, installation was carried out using a LR1280 crawler crane.
This girder is part of a bridge on the new Toowoomba 41km-long bypass, which will take heavy vehicle highway traffic north around Toowoomba rather than through it. The bypass will improve freight efficiency and driver safety, relieve pressure on Toowoomba’s roads, and enhance liveability for the city’s residents.
