Work on the wreckage of the KNM Helge Ingstad restarted on Wednesday with a careful inspection of the vessel's fastenings and point of contact to the sea bed.
The inspection revealed that the storm has caused wear and tear on one of the aft securing wires and that this was damaged. Furthermore, one of the shore side securing points was showing signs of cracks in the rock in which it is secured.
Work on repairing the damaged fastenings started straight away. Diving operations also restarted placing the eventual lifting chains.
