The 12 car train was led by a 270,000-lb (122.5-tonne) locomotive that had left the tracks and landed on a main interstate highway, closing all three southbound lanes of the freeway.

Oxbo utilised one of its dual lane transporters to move the Amtrak locomotive, which measured 80 ft (24.4 m) long.

According to Oxbo, not only was the locomotive longer and heavier than the typical trailer load, it was also taller, which required changes to the trailer design in order to have enough clearance under overpasses along the route.

Two 500-ton (453.6-tonne) capacity cranes were used to lift the locomotive onto the trailer, before it was transported a few miles to a nearby military base. SOURCE: HLPFI
