Seajacks Scylla arrived in Cuxhaven on 23rd August and left at 09.00 on Friday 31st August loaded with the first three sets of monopiles and transition pieces for installation on the Deutsche Bucht wind farm in the German North Sea. As this article is being written the vessel is on the 1st turbine location approximately 110kms north of the Dutch island of Ameland

There are 31 transition pieces to be installed on 31 monopile foundations.

31 monopiles fabricated in Rostock by EEW, each of monopiles weighing \- 1,100t. These have been transported from Rostock by barge and loaded directly from the barge by the main crane on board the Seajacks Scylla.

The remaining 2 foundations are mono bucket foundations developed by the  Fred. Olsen company, Universal Foundations. These last 2 foundations will be installed next summer.

The 31 transition pieces were fabricated in Spain by Windar Renovables and Idesa, in their fabrication yards in Avilés. They were shipped from Aviles to Cuxhaven on 3 voyages in the 4 weeks from Mid-July to Mid-August onboard Happy Star from the BigLift fleet. They are 29m high and weigh >300t each.Seajacks Scylla in Cuxhaven
